Frequently Asked Questions

What is Mandaar?

Mandaar is a school of thought in the making exploring how societies become capable of creating their own futures. We combine research, dialogue, experimentation and institution building.

What does Mandaar believe in?

We question assumptions about freedom, prosperity, knowledge, institutions, power and fertility—and explore how these shape the capabilities of individuals and societies.

What is the Mandaar Way?

Observe → Question → Understand → Analyse → Evaluate → Act.

It is our approach to understanding reality, questioning assumptions and turning ideas into action.

Why Bihar?

Bihar is our place of inquiry and experimentation; India is our larger horizon. We use real situations in Bihar to explore questions that matter far beyond Bihar.

What does Mandaar do?

We work through four connected forms of work: Research, Dialogue, Experimentation and Institution Building.

What are Mandaar's initiatives?

Our work includes Mandaar Manthan, Pataliputra Vimarsh, ReBoot Bihar, Deshaj Labs, Safe Haldi Mission and other emerging experiments. Each is an expression of the larger Mandaar approach.

Who can be part of Mandaar?

Researchers, students, entrepreneurs, practitioners, technologists, educators, public leaders and others who are willing to question assumptions, learn seriously and help build what comes next.

How can I get involved?

Explore our initiatives, participate in our programmes, contribute ideas or research, collaborate with us, or simply start a conversation. There is no single way to be part of Mandaar.
